Built in the 50s and 60s, it has created a 320-hectare reservoir that is particularly popular with anglers and hikers. Nestled among alpine meadows, the lake and surrounding mountains form a magnificent landscape, offering stunning panoramic views of the Alps and Mont Blanc in particular.

Built at an altitude of almost 1600 m, the Roselend dam impresses with its size and the vast blue expanse of its reservoir. Overlooked by massifs over 2400 m high, it enjoys a wild and beautiful setting. Family trails allow you to walk along the shoreline. A 4-hour hike around the lake is enough to stay on its shores. Numerous other hiking trails criss-cross the massifs around the reservoir, offering breathtaking views of the dam and the turquoise waters bordered by verdant mountains. Most outdoor activities take place around the lake: climbing, via ferrata, hiking and mountain biking, paragliding and horse riding. Fishing is available from the shore. The lake is classified as category 1. Its cold, deep waters are ideal for salmonids. To enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and a pleasant moment of relaxation, stop off at the Chalet de Roselend: on the terrace facing the landscape, or in the warm mountain decor of the dining room, you can sample local specialities or simply refresh yourself with a drink.

A lake in the heart of the Alps The Roselend dam is the 4th highest altitude dam in France.
