Whether you’re on a camping vacation in Annecy<\/a>, in the Haute-Savoie department of eastern France, or just passing through for theday<\/a>, Annecy’s markets<\/strong> are the place to discover the city’s atmosphere and meet the locals. Located in the city center or adjacent neighborhoods, you’ll have the opportunity to sample local specialties such as Reblochon, Tomme de Savoie, charcuterie, fine chocolate, seasonal fruit and vegetables, mountain honeys, cakes and doughnuts. <\/p>\n\n

Annecy’s old town market<\/h2>\n\n

The Old Town Market<\/strong> is the liveliest and most touristic Annecy market in Savoie. Opinions are unanimous. It’s considered one of the most beautiful markets in Haute-Savoie<\/strong>. Its warm atmosphere makes you want to stroll for hours through the narrow streets and arcades, stopping at every stall where regional specialities and local produce make your mouth water. You can also stop off at the terrace of a local caf\u00e9 and simply enjoy the atmosphere and the events taking place there. The Old Town Market<\/strong> takes place on rue Sainte-Claire and in the streets of the old town on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., all year round<\/strong>. It’s food-only on Tuesdays, with a special focus on local produce. On Fridays and Sundays, it expands to the Quais de l’\u00c9v\u00each\u00e9 with clothes, books and local crafts. <\/p>\n\n

Markets around Annecy<\/h2>\n\n

As elsewhere in France, other villages near Annecy also have their own weekly markets:<\/p>\n\n

  • Faverges market, Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Le Grand Bornand mountain village market.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Saint Jorioz market every Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Local producers’ market on Friday evenings in Faverges, in front of the tourist office, from 4pm to 7pm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Th\u00f4nes market on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    Various farmers’ markets are held along the lakeside in the Haute-Savoie region, both year-round and only during the summer months.
